When a lot closes, if you are the highest bidder you may see your bid marked as “In Contention.” This means you were the top bidder at the close of the auction, but the final result depends on whether the reserve price has been met.
If the reserve price has been met, you will win the item and receive a successful bid email confirming your purchase.
If the reserve price has not been met, the lot may be marked as “Referred to Vendor.” This means your highest bid has been submitted to the vendor (seller) for consideration. Our referrals team may contact you to discuss the item and any possible negotiations with the vendor.
You can also check the status of your bids by logging into your account and viewing the Purchases page. If the item appears there, your bid has been accepted. You will also receive an email with payment instructions for your successful purchase.
If you have not yet received an outcome, your offer may still be under consideration by the vendor, so please allow some time for the process to be completed.
