Its Autumn Chillax time!  

I’ve got relaxing couple of Pinots, a woody Chardonnay, a Sav Blanc, two Cab Sauvs, a Shiraz, a Sparkling and even a Sangiovese to round out our Autumn Chillax Range from the Lloyds cellars this week. Below is my ‘Everybody knows the rules – One Sip tasting’ of the 2019 Creek Station  Cabernet Sauvignon.

2014 Pasadera Pinot Noir, Mornington Peninsula
 RRP $390 per case, $65 per bottle
This Shiraz delivers bold notes of dark-berry fruits along with rich and aromatic notes of blackberry. Touches of subtle smoked oak and pepper spice complete the palate and are supported by a fine tannin structure. This Shiraz will provide immediate enjoyment but will reward with time in the cellar. 14.5% Alcohol

2016 Pasadera Chardonnay, Mornington Peninsula

Mornington Peninsula has earned a reputation for world-class wines of elegance and finesse. Pasadera is located in Shoreham, in the south of the region. The combination of north-facing slopes, fertile volcanic soils and intensive viticulture adds an extra dimension of complexity and power to the wines. The 2016 Chardonnay is a fine example of classic cool climate Chardonnay. Elegant, complex and refined. 14.5% Alcohol

2016 GREENOCK ESTATE Barossa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon
 RRP $720 per case, $60 per bottle
Single block series. Fruit selected from our 70 year old block, slow-ripening, low-yield delivering, ripe fruit driven style. Harvested in April aged 22 months in French Oak barriques, the colour is dark chocolate, dark plum jam, the wine displays figs, cranberry and black tea offering seamless fruit flavours with firm tannins. Elegant toasty oak with hints of mushroom and cashew nuts on back palate, integrated with fruits of the forest. 12.5% Alcohol

2017 Totino Wines Adelaide Hills, Sangiovese Shiraz Cabinet
 RRP $297 per case, $30 per bottle
Premium Adelaide Hills fruit parcels grown on the picturesque Totino Vineyards are filled from vines ranging from 14-30 years old. Sangiovese, an Italian classic, Shiraz an Aussie favourite and Cabernet a famed French, are used in this new and exciting blend in the Totino series. Ruby red with purple hues in appearance. Plums and cherries on the nose leading through to dark stone fruits with underlying savoury earthy rustic notes. A rich yet incredibly smooth wine with a lingering finish. The rich soils and cool climate give each varietal a distinguished character with the Sangiovese providing structure and the Shiraz and Cabernet adding a rich juicy earthiness; blended they provide drinking pleasure not only now but also in years to come if cellaring. 12.5% Alcohol

2017 Greenock Estate The Family Barrel Shiraz (Barossa Valley)

Introducing The Family Barrel from Greenock Estate Wines, it's a new wine for us but the idea is old; as old in fact as the oldest vineyards in the Barossa Valley. The Family Barrel concept comes from the long-established tradition of the English aristocracy who would lay down a "pipe" of Port upon the birth of a child. Of course, not everyone will want to buy 24 dozen or more but do find space for at least a case of this fine Barossa gem. After all, if your family doesn't warrant the very best then who does?

NV Thorn-Clarke Pinot Noir Chardonnay Sparkling (Eden Valley)
 RRP $180 per case, $15 per bottle
The nose of this wine is filled with delicate aromas of green apple, citrus peel and a hint of strawberries and cream. The lees contact has enhanced the wine with richer characters of baked brioche and toasted hazelnuts. The palate is bright and vibrant with elements of granny smith apple and grapefruit as well as slightly richer notes of almond meal. The mousse has a beautifully creamy mouthfeel and the bead is fine. A balanced wine with Eden Valley elegance.

2018 Reis Creek Milestone Cabernet Sauvignon (Coonawarra)
 RRP $252 per case, $42 per bottle
For this rich and elegant Cabernet we selected quality fruit from a low yielding 40 year old Coonawarra Vineyard. The wine displays a bouquet of blackcurrant, blue damson plum, cedary oak and hints of mulberry. With the intense palate showing briary blackberry, red currant and blueberry, complimented by subtle spicy/nutty oak. Exceptional drinking now or cellar for further development. Winner of CWSA Gold Medal.

Profile

Scott Webber is one of the founding partners at Lloyds and has worked for the company from its inception in 2004. In that time Scott has been a Licensed Auctioneer and Qualified ASA Valuer. Prior to Lloyds, Scott was a Farm Manager at Cubbie Station in Queensland, he has an earthmoving and agricultural background.

Scott is heavily involved in daily valuations. He acts for a wide range of clients and vendors including Insurance companies, Financiers, Insolvency Practitioners, Government branches, Joint Ventures and Alliances, large companies, and private individuals. Scott personally co-signs and oversees every valuation report completed by Lloyds. On average the Lloyds valuations department conducts over 500 appraisals per financial year.

Scott has managed many auctions and private sales, previously completing an approximate average of 400-800 traditional auction lots per week. Given that the Lloyds system is now online, traditional auctions are very minimal and are completed in a simulcast method, to comply with contracts we have with major government departments. Although Scott’s focus is currently Valuations, he still oversees and runs auctions weekly on a wide variety of assets from motor vehicles to very specialised process lines.

Scott offers a wealth of experience as an Auctioneer and Valuer in all aspects of Valuations and Asset Disposals.

Having headed disposal programs for Major Infrastructure Alliances, Joint Venture partnerships and Government projects throughout Australia, Scott has a wide range of experience in the Civil Construction, Earthmoving, Manufacturing and Agricultural sectors offering a “turn key” service from start to finish.
