August Classic Car Auction Recap

Lloyds Classic Car Auctions are renowned for curating some of the most spectacular automotive auctions in Australia. As the gavel fell and the engines roared to life, collectors and car enthusiasts were treated to over 330 classic cars in August’s classic car auction. Let’s take a look at some of the classics that went under the hammer for the month of August.

The evolution of the Walkinshaw! This 2008 HSV W427 has low kilometers as was one of the cleanest of its kind on the market and extremely well presented. It is build number 012 of 137 and only 1 of 29 in sting red. This special vehicle was completely original and always garaged, selling for $162,000. Congratulations to the new custodian!

The 1968 Ford Falcon XT GT was a classic with quite a story. Purchased back in 1993 by the previous custodian’s late father, this classic was found in a shed not running, and sat untouched in its original condition for many years. This was until 2010 when the previous custodian purchased the vehicle from his father and decided to restore it in honour of him after his passing. When restoring the vehicle, to his surprise, it became evident that this Falcon was in fact a verified, matching numbers vehicle, which are hard to come by in this condition, also finished in the hero colour, Candy Apple Red, and being within the same family for 30 years. It sold for $150,000 and has now gone on to a new custodian to love and enjoy.

It wouldn’t be a classic car auction without a Maserati. Also selling under the hammer was the 1994 Maserati Shamal selling for $120,000. This was 1 of 35 to be Australian delivered and was owned by the previous custodian for 25 years.

And last but not least that we are going to cover in this recap is the ‘black beauty’ 1974 Jaguar E-Type V12 Series 3 selling for $210,000! What a car! Congratulations to the new custodian!

Those are just a few sold classics from what was another very successful auction with happy vendors and bidders. As always, you will find our next LIVE classic car auction on the last Saturday of every month, the next one being Saturday 30th September from 10am. Don’t miss out!
