Gold Coast Rides IT Wave

A free Gold Coast IT Conference is boasting the goal of turning the city into the next ‘Silicon Valley’, or perhaps ‘Silicon Coast’ establishing an IT community set to propel Australia forward.
City of Gold Coast Mayor, Tom Tate will discuss the city’s secret dark fibre network as he headlines a powerful line-up of speakers presenting to local ICT professionals attending a much-anticipated networking event this Wednesday morning.
Gold Coasters are leading the way for Australia’s IT Industry, with local government and nationally recognised leaders combining to create a haven for innovation in an ICT Forum event next Wednesday the 28th of July.
“If you work in IT in Southeast Queensland, are a leader or an innovator, you need to attend this event. We’ve had to find a bigger room to expand the event 3 times now since announcing this IT Forum meeting and releasing another 100 tickets just days before the event to cope with demand,” said Geoff Provest, Chairman of the Gold Coast IT Forum.
The Gold Coast ICT Forum has never been more relevant as COVID-19 changes the business and community landscape. Information, communication, and technology (ICT) have been the backbone behind these changes.
“The aim is to attract further talent in the IT industry to the Gold Coast, offering unparalleled opportunities for individuals. The prospects are hard to beat – the Gold Coast weather, lifestyle, IT infrastructure and a booming economy offer growth and amazing career opportunities on our doorstep,” Mr Provest continued.
The event will offer networking with other local industry professionals, cover subjects from Information Communications & Technology to business, cryptocurrency and blockchain, IT security and building high performance teams.
Gold Coast’s auction house, Lloyds Auctions is sponsoring the event. “We feel very honoured be a part of this great initiative and growing our Gold Coast community to provide opportunities in such an important sector in the future,” said Mr. Lee Hames, Chief Operations Officer for Lloyds Auctions.
Free tickets are still available for this breakfast event being held this Wednesday 28th July from 6:45am to 8:30am at the RACV, Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast.
