Our Year In Review - 2019
We would like to thank you for making our 2019 the best yet!
Thanks to everyone for their support, we achieved some great things this year and we hope you did too.
We have seen Lloyds Auctions carry on skyrocketing in 2019 as we expanded our horizons and our Gosford branch began taking on more and more!
Lloyds also extended our NSW presence into our brand new warehouse in Sydney. If you haven’t been to check it out, you must! It’s full of classic cars, furniture, civil gear, transport and heavy equipment.
We have also brought our classic car auctions to Western Australia, opening a small site in Perth for drop off and inspections.
We took on the challenge of building fantastic teams in our new locations. We have amazing staff in Carrara and Gosford already and we were fortunate enough to be able to relocate some to Girraween, Sydney this year, both temporarily and permanently.
Our new recruitment this year has also been fantastic. We have had the opportunity to promote people based on their attitude and to see them flourish in those positions.
Our vision is to continue providing the high level of service that we have always applied in our other areas such as West Gosford, NSW and Carrara, QLD.
There were also some big auction challenges we tackled head on that we think were pretty cool…
We took on the biggest classic car auction the Southern Hemisphere has ever seen… And what an auction it was!
Record was the key word for the Gosford Classic Car Auction, as they seemed to be broken left, right and centre! Approximately ten Australian car records were broken for Holden models alone.
Another record breaking highlight included the 1930 Packard 740 which sold for $225,000!
The entire weekend was a huge success pulled off by a great team, including the staff at the Gosford Classic Car Museum.
They thanked us for the amazing work we have done in getting these incredible results for their beautiful cars and also thanked the community for the support over the past few years.
The world-class event described by many enthusiasts that attended the auction, solidifies us here at Lloyds Auctions as a world leader in the European and prestige car market and proves that Australian car fanatics are as passionate as any.
It truly was a collection, and a weekend, to remember.
We saw a dramatic increase in the jewellery market with the introduction of more and more prestige pieces to our auctions.
We started our National Million Dollar Jewellery auction in September. Every month this auction features high end pieces from loose pink diamonds to Rolex watches so our bidders can easily find the best pieces we have to offer.
A pink diamond is beyond rare and is in extremely high demand worldwide. We feel very privileged to see just one a year but to have several come through our auctions has been a real honour.
This curated monthly auction encompasses our highest quality jewellery from Queensland and New South Wales to create the jewellery auction everyone has been waiting for.
We also had the extreme pleasure to hold not one, but two, Rare Watches and Whiskies auctions which featured some of the world’s finest watches and sought-after whiskies.
Watches like the Rolex Submariner Date LV model also known as the ‘Hulk’, and Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch which 1 of only 250 in the world went under the hammer.
This provided a unique opportunity for people to buy and own a watch they have dreamed of now, instead of waiting several years on a waitlist.
We also had the famous Macallan ‘M’ Decanter that is one of only 1,750 bottles from the initial tranche in 2013. Reports have it that it is now discontinued so that was extremely exciting to see.
But wait, there’s more!
This year we have tackled the aviation sector head on, starting with the great opportunity to own a low timed 2016 Cirrus SR22 G5 ‘Australis Premium’ aircraft.
Since January we have had 4 more Cirrus aircraft come through Lloyds Auctions and we couldn’t be more excited!
The 22nd of May brought the start of a new monthly auction that has made a big impact on the Civil, Transport and Machinery scene and really transformed the industry.
It is now so much easier and more effective to buy and sell equipment than ever before!
It is a multi-vendor auction specialising in a range of equipment across all types of machinery and all industries including earthmoving, civil, agriculture and transport.
We saw the revival of pinball and arcade machines is still going strong with people going berserk to get their hands on them!
Almost everyone who walked into our Carrara warehouse during our two major Arcade Machine Auctions wanted to play with the collections that we had on display.
One of our strongest performing auction categories consisted of items from the 1950’s to 1990’s including cars, memorabilia, comic books, fashion clothing and old electronics.
Supporting local not-for-profit communities is something we always hold very close to our hearts.
This year we got behind the Gold Coast Titans Community Foundation, Support the Girls, SCARF, Headspace and Transformations in the Gold Coast, and raised money to help them change lives.
We also started a very special partnership with RizeUp Australia, a community-driven organisation of passionate men and women, dedicated to supporting the many families affected by domestic and family violence.
Every month Lloyds will be having a ‘Feel Good Friday’ where our staff members are to bring in an item (or gold coin) to donate to RizeUp to help them set up new homes for those who have had to flee their own.
In December we also introduced the brand new, monthly Lloyds Charity Benefit Auction which is 100% for Charity with 0% fees.
Each incredible item in this month’s auction has a charity of the donor’s choice linked to it where all money raised will be donated.
Thanks to all the wonderful supporters who contributed to our first Charity Benefit and raised funds for Variety, The Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal 2019, Motor Racing Ministries and Titans Community Foundation.
If you have a charity you would like to nominate or an item you would like to donate (or both!) send us an email now to take part in next month’s Charity Benefit auction.
All round it has been an incredible 12 months and we have overcome challenges and accomplished a lot in a variety of different areas.
This is just a great group of people trying to do great things and we wouldn’t be able to achieve any of them without the support of our amazing vendors and bidders and supportive service providers & suppliers. Thank you to everyone for making 2019 a fantastic journey.
We look forward to seeing what new experiences and challenges 2020 brings us and we look forward to sharing our success with you!
All the best for the remaining holiday season and have a happy and safe New Year!
